Telling about me:
1. Angni munga Bir.
The word angni is a
combination of ang and ni, where ang means ‘me’ and ni means ‘of’. So angni
means ‘of me’ or ‘my’. The word munga is again a combination of ‘mung’ and ‘a’
where mung means name and ‘a’ is a particle which represents that the word ‘mung’
is the subject of the sentence.
Angni munga Bir = My
name is Bir.
2. Ang Delhi-ao
thayw.
Ao is a particle in Bodo which can be represented by ‘at’, ‘in’,
‘on’ in English. Thus Delhi-ao means ‘in Delhi’. Thayw is combination of ‘tha’
which means ‘stay’ or ‘live’ and the particle w (yw) which represents the
present tense of the word ‘tha’. Thayw = live.
Ang Delhi-ao thayw = I live in Delhi (literally, I Delhi-in
live)
3. Angni noh-a Assam-ao
Noh means ‘house’ or ‘home’, ‘a’ is the particle telling us
that noh is the subject of the sentence and Assam-ao is ‘in Assam’.Thus,
Angni noh-a Assam-ao = My home is in Assam.
